Inspired by Gemini's and Yorkshirerose's recent posts, what arrangements do you make for your cat(s) when you go away on holiday?

I set this poll as multiple choice vote, but do you think it would be better to have just one vote?

We have only been away twice since we got Lyra and my next door neighbour pops in and feeds her twice a day. She never saw her the whole time and only knew she was alright because the food was gone. Lyra spent the time hiding. I did enquire about paying someone but most of the fee would be for them to play with her and brush her so I thought there is not point because Lyra would freak out if they tried to bring her out of her hiding place.

I look after my neighbour's chickens so we have a reciprocal arrangement.

Great arrangement Honeysuckle.

Lol at Lyra hiding. Miss Marple does the same.

Will she now feed Wolfie too?

I'm lucky my SIL & her hubby come and stay. Otherwise, we would have to pay someone.

I prefer to have a reciprocal arrangment with my neighbours

I have paid for someone to come in for 2 weeks in the past. She was good but I have a suspicion she brought her son with her and I told her it would freak the girls out if the children came. She told me she'd leave him at home with her huby when she was calling in, which is why I hired her.

I now look after my neighbour's and they look after the girls for me. Their cat is diabetic, she has an insulin injection twice daily.

We are very lucky and Pauls parents, who the monsters know look after them when we are away.

I did have my best friend look after them when i went to see my mum over new year and she did a fab job but i worried about everything and rang her everyday lol.

Over the summer we have just got into our diaries the dates we can go to America as pauls parents are away either side of us. Woopwoop

When we go away the kids stay at home with the animals.

I still text them each day however to make sure that someone is giving a lap to Maisie as she sits on me every evening without fail and she must miss me when I am not there yes
